White Belt: 10th Gup

A seed is white when it sheds its hard outer covering, so this color represents purity of heart, mind, and soul

Students must perform 5 Poomse called Kibons.
Kibons are short forms designed to help students learn the basics of their poomse.  There is something in all the Kibons which students will do throughout their journey to Black Belt.

KIBON 1
1.    Kemo stance
2.    Look left. Closed left fist low block.
3.    Look right. Closed right fist low block.
4.    Look left. Left middle focus in to out closed fist hammer block.
5.    Look right. Right middle focus in to out closed fist hammer block.
6.    Look straight ahead. Left closed fist high block.
7.    Look straight ahead. Right closed fist high block.
8.    Look straight ahead. Left middle punch.
9.    Look straight ahead. Right middle punch. GIYAP

KIBON 2
1.    Kemo stance
2.    Look straight ahead. Closed left fist out to in hammer block.
3.    Look straight ahead. Closed right fist out to in hammer block.
4.    Look right. Twist to the right into a forward stance, left open hand suto (neck level).
5.    Look left. Twist to the left into a forward stance, right open hand suto (neck level).
6.    Look straight ahead. Twist to the right in forward stance. Sweep left hand overhead in counter-clockwise motion for an open hand low block to protect your entire torso.
7.    Look straight ahead. Twist to the left in forward stance. Sweep right hand overhead in clockwise motion for an open hand low block to protect your entire torso.
8.    Look straight ahead. Left high punch at face level.
9.    Look straight ahead. Right high punch at face level. GIYAP

KIBON 3
1.    Kemo stance. Look straight ahead.
2.    Look left. Left open hand mid-section block.
3.    Look right. Right open hand mid-section block.
4.    Look left. Drop hands down and make a large counter-clockwise circular motion and end with double open hand low block to left. Right hand reinforces across chest.
5.    Look right. Drop hands down and make a large clockwise circular motion and end with double open hand low block to right. Left hand reinforces across chest.
6.    Look left. Reinforced mid-section open hand block to left. Reinforcing right hand across chest.
7.    Look right. Reinforced mid-section open hand block to right. Reinforcing left hand across chest.
8.    Look straight ahead. Downward right hand block. Left arm spear hand, chest level. Left elbow one inch over right wrist.
9.    Look straight ahead. Downward left hand block. Right straight arm spear hand, chest level. Right elbow one inch over right wrist. GIYAP

KIBON 4
1.    Beginning stance is the long stance to the left (right leg back) with double low block.
2.    Right leg front stretch.  Return to long stance from step 1.  Double low block.
3.    Right leg front kick.
4.    Switch long stance (left leg back). Double low block.
5.    Left leg front stretch.  Return to long stance from step 4.  Double low block.
6.    Left leg front kick.  GIYAP
7.    Switch long stance to the right (left leg back). Double low block.
8.    Left leg front stretch.  Return to long stance from step 7.  Double low block.
9.    Left leg front kick.
10.    Switch long stance to the right (right leg back). Double low block.
11.    Right leg front stretch.  Return to long stance from step10.  Double low block.
12.    Right leg front kick.  GIYAP
13.    Switch long stance back to starting position. Double low block.

KIBON 5
1.    Kemo stance. Look straight ahead.
2.    Look left. Cross step right-over-left.
3.    Left leg side stretch. Return to kemo stance. Double low block.
4.    Look right. Cross step left-over-right.
5.    Right leg side stretch. Return to kemo stance. Double low block.
6.    Look left. Cross step right-over-left.
7.    Left leg side kick. Return to kemo stance. Double low block.
8.    Look right. Cross step left-over-right.
9.    Right leg side kick. Return to kemo stance.
Double low block.
10.    Look left. Pivot right leg side kick. Return to kemo stance. Double low block
11.    Look right. Pivot left leg side kick (low focus). Left leg side kick (middle focus). GIYAP. Return to kemo stance. Double low block.
12.    Look right. Pivot left leg side kick. Return to kemo stance. Double low block
13.    Look left. Pivot right leg side kick (low focus). Left right side kick (middle focus). GIYAP. Return to kemo stance. Double low block.
